This is a unique and fascinating section of horse maxilla (upper jaw - skull) with two unerupted teeth. This specimen was found at the famous La Brea Tarpits in Los Angeles, California. This specimen was from a juvenile horse as evidenced by the adult teeth still being fully unerupted. It is solid and very heavily mineralized. It features the beautiful and very unique chocolate brown patina. Exceptional specimen with impeccable provenance. La Brea fossils are incredibly difficult to find and highly sought after among collectors.
