This is an absolutely fascinating near full palate from a subadult tapir. This specimen has at least 14 teeth still intact. The section of premaxilla with the canine is separate (missing some bone in between), but is associated. The canine is removable. On the left side, one of the replacement adult molars can be seen still unerupted. On the right side, you can shake the specimen and hear another tooth still encapsulated in bone. This is an incredibly unique and fascinating specimen. World class specimen.
