This is a large and super nice section of mastodon tusk. This specimen weighs 1lb 6.7oz. It is rock solid and very well mineralized. It has an attractive matte patina. Both ends show the schreger lines very well. This is a very nice example that displays well - much nicer in hand than the pictures portray. Tusk sections are difficult to find this well preserved.
