This is an awesome dire wolf upper carnassial (P4) from the famous Monkey Jungle Hammock site in South Florida. This specimen is absolutely fantastic with all three roots still perfectly intact. The enamel has very attractive marbled blue colorations. Carnivore P4s are incredibly difficult to find with all three roots intact. The roots are highly detailed and well preserved. This specimen is from a very old collection and was collected prior to the University of Florida's excavations at the site. The Monkey Jungle Hammock site is located in Miami, Florida. University of Florida excavations discovered fossils from jaguar, american lion, dire wolf, panther, camel, peccary, spectacled bear, horse, and many small mammalian and reptilian species. Top quality carnivore fossils like this specimen are incredibly rare and are always highly sought after among collectors.
