This is one of the most grossly pathological fossils that we have ever offered for sale. This bear must have been in a tremendous amount of discomfort throughout its life. It appears that this mandible suffered from some type of infection causing a hole clear through the jaw with large bony growth all around. This piece was very difficult to photograph to portray the depth of deformity. Very fascinating specimen.
