This is an exceptionally nice section of alligator maxilla (upper jaw - skull) with a gorgeous original tooth still intact. This specimen was found at the famous Leisey Shell Pit. The tooth is large and measures just over 1" outside of the jaw. On the underside of the jaw you can see the root end with a replacement tooth growing inside of the root. The total tooth length with root is over 2 1/2". This is a fantastic display specimen with impeccable provenance. Awesome piece.
