This is an absolutely exceptional mastodon axis vertebra (cervical C2). This example is extremely well preserved and detailed. It is heavily mineralized and weighs 3lb 11.1oz. It was found in two pieces and has been glued which is very common for this vertebra position. Great example that makes a very impressive display.
