This is an absolutely fantastic tapir right hemi-mandible with the symphysis still attached. It has eight teeth still intact in the bone including both canines. There are five fully erupted cheek teeth along with an unerupted rear molar. It's possible that there are even more unerupted cheek teeth within the jaw. The bone is rock solid and very heavily mineralized. Attractive glossy patina over the entire piece. The teeth have some attractive marbled enamel colors. Obviously found in two pieces and has been glued. This specimen makes an absolutely fantastic display that is really eye-catching. This is hands down the finest tapir mandible that we have ever offered for sale.
