We get a lot of special request emails from collectors looking for specific items; by far, the number 1 request is always for colorful mastodon teeth. Well, here it is: This is one of the finest, most attractive, and just simply breath-taking mastodon teeth that we have ever offered for sale. Is it cheap? By no means. We have priced it in such a way that if it doesn't sell it will certainly have a place amongst the premier mastodon teeth in our own private collection. This specimen was found in the famous Suwannee River which is well known to produce the most beautiful naturally polished and wildly colorful teeth of anywhere in the entire United States. This specimen has the classic Suwannee River stunningly glossy enamel which has not been coated with anything, every bit of shine you see in the pictures is totally natural. There is a superficial crack in one hump, but it is totally solid with no treatment necessarily, it is only on the surface. The enamel colors are vibrant and range from mustard yellow to burnt orange to midnight black. A large portion of the root system is still intact and is heavily mineralized; this tooth weighs an impressive 3lb 2.5oz. This is truly a magnificent and museum quality tooth. It will be a sad day when it joins another collection, sadly we just can't keep them all.
