This is an extremely nice and fully round section of gomphothere tusk. This specimen is rock solid and very heavily mineralized; it weighs 2lb 11.3oz. It is very detailed and shows extremely well the schreger lines. It has been treated with a preservative so it will be safe to handle for many years to come. Florida tusk sections are notorious for being not very well mineralized but this specimen is very solid and literally rock-like.
