This is an absolutely massive and beautifully preserved section of mastodon tusk. This specimen is fully round and very heavy at 9lb 7.3oz. This specimen is unusual in that it is so well preserved that the outermost layer of "enamel" is still intact which is virtually never seen. Really remarkable specimen that makes an impressive display. Sections of tusk of this size and quality are rarely offered for sale.
