This is an absolutely museum quality and one-of-a-kind box turtle shell (carapace) with a bizarre pathology. This specimen has a lot of character with an exagerated flared posterior shell edge. The pathology appears to be a bite hole, but it was clearly not lethal as the bone calcified around the injury which likely got infected as it healed. Really fantastic example with a lot of character. Great display specimen.
