This is an absolutely exceptional tapir maxilla (upper jaw). This is a specimen that we seriously considered adding to our collection, and we don't even specifically collect tapir - it's just that nice of a piece!! The teeth are absolutely exceptional and each is fully intact with no damage. Stunning blue enamel coloration. Large portion of bone is intact including the beginning of the zygomatic arch. Rock solid and very heavily mineralized specimen. Really exceptional piece that makes a great display. These are extremely rare to find this nice and intact - this is the best tapir maxilla that we have ever offered for sale.
