This is a very rare extinct rhino calcaneum (ankle bone) from the famous Love site near Gainesville, Florida. This specimen has a beautiful blonde patina that is classic for the site. The Love site was taken over by the Florida State Museum very soon after its discovery - so fossils from this iconic site are very scarce in private collections.
