This is a large and extremely heavily mineralized section of gomphothere tusk. This specimen is literally rock-like; it weighs a very impressive 1lb 15.9oz. Very well preserved and shows the classic enamel band. Pictures do it absolutely no justice; it is much nicer and more detailed in hand.
