This is an incredibly rare absolutely tiny neonatal mastodon tooth. This is one of the smallest mastodon teeth that we've ever offered for sale, it is even smaller than some tapir teeth!! This is the first tooth that a baby mastodon gets and this specimen is just beginning to show the first signs of wear indicating that this mastodon almost certainly died within just a couple months after birth, certainly while still nursing. Very attractive specimen with beautiful glossy black enamel. This is an incredible and highly attractive tooth - if it doesn't sell it will definitely have a place in our private collection. Much nicer than the pictures portray.
