This is a very unusual sloth caniniform (canine) tooth that was misaligned due to an overbite or underbite. This tooth should have been worn at a roughly 45 degree angle, instead it is quite pointed. This likely would have been quite painful for the individual as the sharp tip would have been cutting into the opposing gum or cheek. Really fascinating tooth for a great price.
