This is a massive and very impressive mastodon palate with three teeth. The teeth have very attractive and quite rare white enamel. This specimen has both four/five-hump teeth and one of the three-humpers. This palate came from an elderly animal who had already discarded the other three-humper and the alveoli have begun to close up and calcify. The three humper that is present was on the verge of being discarded as the roots have already mostly dissolved, it is loose and not attached to the maxilla. This is a fantastic specimen that makes an incredible display. We have sold many mastodon mandibles over the years, but this is only the second palate that we have ever offered. Truly a museum quality specimen. This is a huge piece that weighs 14lbs. It measures 17" x 15". Due to the size and weight of this specimen, shipping is not an option. We are willing to coordinate pickup/delivery.
