This is one of the largest plates of glyptodont shell that we have ever encountered, it's certainly the finest example that we have seen anywhere. It contains 53 fully complete perfect scutes, including six of the edge "spike" scutes. Extremely well preserved and very detailed. Each scute is extremely crisp. This is a top shelf, museum quality specimen. It is mounted on a custom slab of deadhead cypress with a metal armature. You will not find a finer section of glyptodont shell for sale anywhere. Due to the size and weight of this specimen and stand, please inquire for shipping options. Measures 9 3/4" x 11 3/4".
