This is the finest mastodon tooth that we have offered for sale in quite some time. It's also probably the largest tooth that we have ever offered for sale. This specimen measures a massive 8 1/8" long x 4 1/8" wide. This is an unerupted cap, so the roots had not yet formed and the enamel shows absolutely no wear and boasts a very high crown. Five fully developed robust cusps or "humps". Stunning ultra glossy jet black enamel. Truly a museum quality tooth.
